This article is not only about the history of that cracker, but scientific ways of becoming a Christmas cracker champion!<\/p>\n<p>Plus, vote on the CRINGIEST cracker joke!<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>A TREE-MENDOUS ORIGIN STORY<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are all familiar with the Christmas Cracker, but where does it originate? Christmas Crackers came into popularity in the 1840s, by a man named Tom Smith, a baker, who had just recently travelled to France to perfect his culinary arts. He idolised a French dish called &#8220;Bon Bons&#8221;, a circular, often chocolate dish, that remain popular even today (nowadays they are often more of a chewy sweet)!<\/p>\n<p>Both Bonbons and Christmas Crackers are wrapped in paper with treats inside, making it clear which ideas he utilized in his new treat &#8211; the Christmas Cracker. With the design all made, he officially patented the design in 1847.<\/p>\n<p>Later down the line, his son would add lots of unique trinkets, like those useless paper hats (Fun Fact: they actually date back to the Roman times, where the Romans used them to celebrate Saturnalia, a popular festival at the time).\u00a0 His work would see success, and Christmas Crackers would become a staple part of British homes and traditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>YULE LOVE THIS TRICK<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now, the part you have all been waiting for&#8230; how to beat the Christmas Cracker! Experts recommend that in order to have an advantage in the Christmas Cracker, you must have a downwards tilt. This is because it is less effort to do a downwards tilt than an upwards tilt. Always remember to do a slow and steady pull, this gives you an advantage to prevent your cracker from breaking on your side by accident. As well as this, you can hold your cracker with a firm and two-handed grip.
