Year 10 Christmas Post

Every year, Year 10s in Bolton School run charity stalls in forms, and as a whole year group, raise money for a good cause they have voted on.

This year, the selected charity is the Ummah Welfare trust. This is a UK based charity that provides aid and funds for international relief for many countries in a range of ways. They help to tackle issues faced in war, poverty, and political conflict.

They have provided emergency relief to over 1,250,600 people as well as education for more than 550,000 children.

Year 10s have been raising money for the ‘Winter Appeal’.

We often forget that people struggle worldwide just as we do with the cold weather.

Recently, many calamities have occurred including earthquakes in places such as Morocco and flooding in places like the UK. With many crises happening all over the globe, many innocent people are in need.

The winter appeal will help to establish necessities such as clean water, mattresses, blankets, food, shelter and more.

On the website, it shows that just £100 can help one family with all essentials needed, and just £50 can keep a family warm.

With hope to continue the tradition with Christmas post this year, an assembly which took place on Friday the 15th introduced the stalls of each form and set the Christmas mood with festive films!

After lots of hard work, students well and truly achieved their goal…

This year, Year 10 have raised… £1634.63!
