Clay and More is a new local business founded by Francesca Ball, established on the 21st of August 2025. With a notable gap in the market for a pottery studio in the Smithills area, Francesca utilised her love and passion for all things pottery and took it a step further, seizing the opportunity to open her business. Located on 661 Chorley Old Road, Bolton, Clay and More is a pottery painting studio open to people of all ages!
Drawing on her previous experience in social media, Francesca promoted her business using media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. Each pottery painting session lasts for 1 hour and 45 minutes, with snacks and drinks are available to purchase separately throughout the session. Customers are welcomed in and can choose from a vast array of clay pottery to paint. The pottery available to paint ranges from plates and mugs to trinket boxes and vases.
There is also a selection of seasonal pottery available! For example, harvest-themed ornaments such as pumpkins were on offer throughout Autumn. Equally, over the festive period, baubles were offered as well as Christmas themed characters. Additionally, there is an extensive range of colours to choose from with samples on display.
